Cast and drawn brass from partner foundries

We do not cast brass ourselves. We supply brass bars and profiles as well as centrifugally cast bushings from a network of partner foundries we have worked with for many years. This lets us offer a wide range of brass in the required grades and profiles – from stock, cut to length or machined into a finished part.

Brass and brass casting

Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc used in many industries. The first casting of brass dates back to around 1000 BC, but production was very difficult and expensive, so brass was used mainly for coins and jewellery.

Cast brasses are used in less stressed pump components, gas and water pipeline fittings, construction and furniture fittings, gears, worms, valves and bearing bushings.

Which brass we supply

  • CuZn39Pb3 (CW614N) – the most widely used free-machining brass for automatic lathes; round, square, flat and hexagonal bars in stock
  • CuZn37 (CW508L) – brass with good formability for sheets and plates
  • CuZn37Mn3Al2PbSi (CW713R) – resistant to corrosion and wear, for plain bearings and valve guides
  • Centrifugally cast brass – bushings and flanged bushings with machining allowance in custom dimensions (enquiry)

Frequently asked questions

Do you make brass castings from a pattern?

We do not have our own brass foundry. However, a part that is cast today can often be machined from a brass bar or a centrifugally cast bushing. Send us a drawing, or the old part and we will create the drawing from it.

What is the standard length of brass bars?

The standard production length is 3,000 mm. We also supply bars cut to the required length with no minimum order quantity.

How quickly can you deliver a machined part?

Normally within 2–3 weeks depending on material availability. In case of a machine breakdown we deliver material on an express basis.

We supply brass and other non-ferrous metals as part of our range of non-ferrous metals from partner foundries.
